Saudi Arabia Launches Effort to ID Every Phone

Saudi Arabia’s Saudi Communications & Information Commission has launched a program to IDENTIFY EVERY SINGLE CELL PHONE USER in the Kingdom. The process, it appears, is that all subscribers are required to send their national ID number and name via SMS. In cases where that information doesn’t match records, the subscriber will be required to show up to a local branch office to sort it all out.
