‘Revolutionary’ Cameras Used On ‘Speed Racer’

Posted on 27 August 2007 by

The Wachowski Brothers (who created The Matrix), are reportedly filming their upcoming “Speed Racer” movie with some kind of “REVOLUTIONARY” CAMERA and that the “final film would look like nothing we’d ever seen before on a movie screen.” It appears that the process will result in cartoon-like focusing, where everything in the background has one focus, and the forground has another (rather than focus of background objects varrying according to distance from the camera). Actress Susan Sarandon is quoted as saying that “they have a room of 200 or 300 guys that are doing all the background, it’s insane.” The cameras, the process and everything about the new look is protected by guards and kept secret. “Speed Racer” opens next year and is based on a 1960s Japanese cartoon.
