A company called Dynamic Internet Technology, which makes anti-censorship software, claims that a new Chinese version of Skype may censor calls and chat sessions and “have or will have more trojan capability to MONITOR AND REPORT users’ activities to Chinese government.” When trying to visit the Skype site from inside China, users are redirected to http://skype.tom.com, where they are offered the China-specific version of Skype.
