Military Gets New Surveillance In War Zones
The U.S. Army is installing a new surveillance system called the Rapid Deployment Integrated Surveillance System, or RDISS. DESIGNED AND DEPLOYED in only three weeks, the system puts cameras where soldiers, Marines and others can get complete “situational awareness” of a potential battlefields, security stations and outposts. The Army plans to deploy HUNDREDS OF RDISS SYSTEMS in Iraq and Afghanistan by the end of the year.
