Japanese Auto Makers to Create Car OS

Posted on 29 July 2007 by

Japan, Inc., is back! The Japanese government is bringing together 10 Japanese car makers and a smattering of electronics giants to build an advanced NEW OPERATING SYSTEM for car electronics, which they say will take over as the global standard. The new OS will compete with a European initiative with the identical goal of dominating the global market, which should emerge in prototype form next year. The Japanese OS won’t have a prototype until 2009 at the earliest. Toyota Nissan, Honda, Denso and Toshiba are on board.
