The Japanese Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry will soon launch a massive effort to create a “3D” SEMICONDUCTOR CHIP that should be ten times faster than the fastest of today’s “flat” chips. They plan to unite Japanese companies like Toshiba and Fujitsu in the effort. The government’s goal is to beat the United States and South Korea to build the first-ever “3D” chip.
