India’s $10 Laptop Really a $100 Laptop, Plus a Typo

The Indian government promised to organize the development of a $10 LAPTOP for broad educational use. Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras are working on it. Now, it turns out that claim was a typo. The transcript of a speech by D. Purandeswari, India’s minister of state for higher education, was supposed to reference a $100 laptop, but was simply missing a zero.
