Army Develops Humvee Made With Foam, Balsa
The U.S. Army is testing an anti-roadside bomb Humvee made with SUPER-LIGHT MATERIALS, “a combination of fiberglass, balsa wood, foam and carbon reinforcements all held together with resin,” according to AP. The materials cut the weight by some 900 pounds, which is then “added back to the vehicle in armor and mine-blast protection.”
