Amazon Kindle 2.0 Hits February 9 – NYT

Posted on 01 January 1970 by

You may have seen the speculation this morning about a February 9 unveiling of the highly anticipated next version of the Amazon Kindle e-book reader. Now the New York Times’ Brad Stone has put pieces of the puzzle together and concluded definitively that “Amazon.com will introduce the next generation of its popular Kindle reader in New York City on Feb. 9.” The evidence?

1. Amazon.com invited the press today to a February 9 press conference at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York City.

2. Amazon.com has confirmed that Amazon.com chief Jeff Bezos will host the event.

3. Amazon.com’s Kindle page had been showing the Kindle out of stock since November, but now says the device will ship in four to six weeks.
