Al Qaeda Threatens Ericsson Over Cartoon

Al Qaeda In Iraq has reportedly threatened an “economic blow” against the cell phone company Ericsson and other Swedish companies unless the government of Sweden doesn’t “repent” for its “crime against the Prophet Muhammad.” Its “crime” was that it didn’t censor a cartoon offensive to some Muslims. In a September 15 audio message posted on a terrorist site, Al Qaeda In Iraq’s Omar Al-Baghdadi offers a $100,000 reward (your gas money at work) for anyone who kills a Swedish cartoonist who drew the cartoon. Weirdly, he also ups the reward to $150,000 “if the cartoonist is slaughtered like a sheep.” Why are they singling out Ericsson (as well as Scania, Volvo, Ikea, and Electrolux)? Because they’re Swedish companies.
