Air Traffic Controller Guides Plane Via SMS

An airplane with one pilot and four passengers lost all avionics (aviation electronics) during flight in Ireland last November, so the pilot called air traffic control with his cell phone. Then, the cell phone stopped working — at least in terms of audio. So the controller guided the pilot in via TEXT MESSAGES. The incident just came to light as air safety officials published their report.
