Unfortunately, we’ve no idea exactly what mobiles are compatible with ConnectLand’s USB Ferris Wheel Phone Stand (aside from the HTC Touch, obviously), but we’re all probably better off that way. This undoubtedly bizarre device can be powered via USB or a pair of AA cells, and it sports an incoming phone call alarm in the form of… wait for it… a spinning Ferris Wheel. That’s right kids, whenever your handset receives a call, the wheel starts to spin and LEDs begin to flash, giving you plenty of motivation to hand out your number to anyone who will call it. Those with money to burn can snap one up for $27, but if you’re that curious to see how this thing works, why not save your dough and peek the (intensely boring) video after the jump?

We’ve said it before — though, not that many
times —
Keepin’ it real fake goods can bring giant smiles with inexpensive and sometimes
functional beauty. The illusion is, of course, smashed once this pretty decent E90 clone is sprung open to reveal the set of stereo speakers that flank the screen and the significantly changed keypad. Though this isn’t a deal breaker from our standpoint, as the layout looks pretty sharp, it features 2 QVGA screens, packs a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and only weighs in at 125 grams. If it rolls with quad-band with EDGE, we’d gamble it’d be a pretty popular — if it proves inexpensive — set.

We haven’t heard of Dutch design outfit Crealev before, but the company says it’s developed a “new levitation concept which is able to produce a very high levitation height combined with a low power dissipation and excellent stability” — and apparently the best way to show that off is this series of levitating lamps. Unveiled at last week’s Dutch Design Week event, the lamps are the product of designer Angela Jansen. We’re assuming they’re magnetic in some way, but Crealev’s website is pretty cagey with the details, only saying that it’s a “proprietary technology.” Either way, we want one.

We already had a pretty good idea of what LG’s Venus slider handset would
look like, but the folks at phoneArena have now fleshed out a few more of the phone’s details, including word on pricing and availability. As we knew before, the phone sports a pair of screens on its face, which phoneArena has now clarified will be a 2-inch QVGA display up top, and a 1.49-inch, 176 x 240 touchscreen below. The site also got word that the phone will be a bit taller and wider than the
VX8550 Chocolate, but not as thick, and that it’ll be available in black or pink. If that’s enough to sway you in its favor, you’ll be able to get your hands on one on November 19th for $199 — after a $50 rebate and a two-year contract, that is.

The Gphone rumors have been heating up lately, and things seems like they’re about to come to a boil. The Wall Street Journal, not generally known for wild rumor-mongering, is reporting that Google is in “advanced talks” with Verizon and Sprint and has made “significant progress” with T-Mobile, with an announcement of some kind due within two weeks. The news sent Google stock past $700 today, although it’s still not clear if Google is simply developing its own software or going all out and doing an entire handset. Either way, it looks like Google’s getting ready to make a move sometime soon, and with the amount of chatter we’re hearing, it’ll to be a big one.

Somewhere below the mighty P1i in Sony Ericsson’s UIQ-based smartphone lineup lies the M600, a phone that introduced the world to one of the most bizarre QWERTY keypad styles we’ve ever seen — a style Sony Ericsson continues to sporadically use today. Thing is, the M600′s getting awfully long in the tooth, and we’ve been waiting on the long-rumored (and FCC-confirmed) M610 for a long freakin’ time now. It may still be getting tweaked deep within Sony Ericsson’s labs, but at least one prototype example has strayed far enough from home to find itself listed on eBay’s German site. Bearing the trademark “SE123″ found on prerelease Sony Ericssons, the thing certainly looks legit — though we’re not really convinced it looks better than the M600 it’s destined to replace. Then again, maybe that’s why it hasn’t been announced yet.

Saitek’s got a new gaming mouse for those in need of a little more precision than your standard off-the-shelf model, with its new
Cyborg mouse cranking the dpi all the way up to 3200. That, of course, can be dialed back to accommodate various mousing tasks, and you’ll get a good number of non-standard mouse features as well, including a programmable four-way hat switch, and two extra buttons that can be set up however you like. While there still doesn’t seem to be any official word on a release, Gizmos.es points out that Amazon UK currently has it listed with a release date of January 11th and a list price of £40 (or $83), although it can be had for £30 (or just over $60) at moment.

Or maybe it was evolution. Either way, the newspaper has served us well for 400 years, but has finally outlived its usefulness. I’m not predicting that newspapers will disappear — only that they should. Cancel your subscription already. IT’S OVER.
