It’s not like the Bluetooth GPS receiver market really needed another combatant, but for those who prefer carrying as much as of their life as possible on a key ring, this one’s for you. Coming in at a minuscule 1.54- x 1.3- x 0.79-inches in size, this SiRF Star III-equipped device can connect simultaneously to up to 20 satellite channels, operate for ten hours on a single charge, sports a tracking sensitivity of 159 dBm, supports an external antenna, and purportedly plays nice with your BT-enabled device from up to ten meters away thanks to Bluetooth 2.0. Charging is handled by the included cigarette adapter or USB charger, and while we wouldn’t be keen on losing a $99.99 receiver right along with our keys, this should prove quite convenient if you’re the organized type.

In today’s episode of tit-for-tat, hackers have blocked Microsoft’s attempt to ban their modified consoles. Just two weeks ago remember, Microsoft began checking and then banning Xbox 360 consoles from Xbox Live if the Big M found the gear to be modified in violation of the Terms of Use. However, new firmware — a tat if you will — was just released by the lively (to say the least) modding community makes hacked Xbox 360s invisible to Microsoft’s snooping; if they can’t see it, they can’t ban it. Now come on Microsoft, show us your tit. What?

By now, we’re pretty sure you’ve heard about Google’s new Street View feature, right? If you’re like us, you’ve been wondering about the vehicles they’re using to create those voyeuristic, 360-degree, street-level images in Manhattan’s concrete canyons and beyond. Well, here’s a hint: that’s Immersive Media’s vehicle reflected in the Street Map picture captured above. Now, if they could just find ET we’d be all set. Oh right, they have. Oh Google, is there anything you can’t do?
[Thanks, Aaron B.]

It may not be the biggest news today out of Espoo, but Nokia has brought out a pair of very capable midrange handsets — so capable, in fact, that we’re kinda surprised Nokia is voluntarily using the term “midrange” to describe them. The 9.5mm thick (nice!) 6500 Classic is a sleek, anodized aluminum candybar featuring a 2 megapixel camera, 1GB (yes, 1GB) of internal storage, Bluetooth, QVGA display, microUSB port for charging, audio, and data, and quadband GSM plus UMTS on the 850 and 2100MHz bands (read: compatible everywhere but the US). The 16.4mm thick 6500 Slide is — you guessed it — a slider with just a little bit more meat on its bones than the Classic, upping the cam to a Carl Zeiss autofocus 3.2 megapixel piece and including a microSD slot, integrated FM radio and TV out. Look for both to be available in the third quarter; €320 (about $431) for the Classic and €370 (about $498) for the Slide before subsidies.

Nokia’s newest and oft rumored “Luna” is finally getting its turn in the spotlight and oh how it shines. This Series 40 phone features quad-band GSM / EDGE, a 2 megapixel camera, translucent smoked glass slider over the keypad, and Nokia’s first use of a micro-USB port. Of course this isn’t just any Series 40 handset — OK, well maybe inside it is, unless of course it’s rolling with the 5th gen release — this is top of the line stuff — at least where price is concerned — and you will be paying $700 for the luxury of picking one up. The 8600 handset is crafted from stainless steel and glass, and that glass bit, plus the price, is just the ticket for lakes of giant crybaby tears if one of these guys ever hits the pavement. No word on carrier availability yet, but with release planned for sometime in Q2, we have plenty of time to fill in those blanks. Oh yeah, check the gallery below for some more sweet shots.

The new E-TEN Glofiish device we hinted at earlier in the month has arrived in all of its 2.8 inch VGA screened, Windows Mobile 6 Pro (see that? We’re already shortening that name up ’round here) goodness. Nothin’ has changed in the specs, but previously unnoticed (at least by us) is the fact that the X500+ supports RDS-TMC — so not only will the GPS support get you where you are going, it will help you dodge traffic, too. The package contains all the bits and bobs you would expect: a headset, USB cable, case, charger, and of course some bundled software. Still doesn’t seem to be anything official on pricing, but at least you hit the link to check the rest of the unboxing pics.
