Samsung Ultra Edition 10.9

Posted on 23 January 2007 by knologies

Samsung Ultra Edition 10.9

Think the Samsung D900 is plenty slim with its 12.9mm thickness? Samsung is shaving another 2mm off it and turns it to Samsung Ultra Edition 10.9.

The sexy slim slider will sport the following features:

  • 3.2-megapixel camera
  • MP3/video player
  • 80MB of internal memory
  • microSD card support
  • TV-out port
  • Digital power amplifier
  • Stereo Bluetooth

Until Samsung officially announces it, the rest is unknown as of now. It is expected to unveil at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona in February.

Hitachi W51H

Hitachi W51H Cellphone: Awesome High-Res Display

Posted on 21 January 2007 by knologies

Hitachi W51H

We all love high resolution displays. Be it on our TV, our monitors, or even our cellphones. Hitachi knows it, and it knows that the cellphone department has been a little lacking of late.

So, in comes Hitachi W51H, a cellphone featuring Hitachi’s latest LCD technology. The display is 2.9-inch, has a high resolution of 800×480, a 170-degree viewing angle, and a 400:1 contrast ratio. This beats the crap out of iPhone’s 320×480 resolution.

But other than its wonderful display, the phone’s features are pretty typical:

  • 2-megapixel camera
  • Fingerprint recognition
  • GPS-support
  • 30MB of internal memory

In my opinion, the Hitachi W51H scores high even in the looks department. But alas, the phone will hit only Japan shelves, at an unknown time.

Duda Farm develops “celery straws,” crazy straws bend their necks in shame

Posted on 07 January 2007 by

Hate to be the one that has to tell you this, but swilling your drinks with those lame ass plastic straws is officially passe. From now on it’s celery straws or nothing for us, thanks to Florida’s Duda Farm Fresh Foods and their l33t bioengineering skilz. Those farming crazies have managed to design stalks of celery that grow in a tube form, allowing for edible straws in your Bloody Mary or a peanut butter surprise inside this tubular wonder. Is there no limit to human ingenuity?
