LG C1 XNote reviewed (sorta, in Korean)

Posted on 23 October 2006 by

It hasn’t even been a week since we first spotted the new LG C1 XNote, but already the first reviews are starting to trickle in (sort of). See, we came across what is supposed to be the first Korean review of the LG C1 XNote, however, we’re pretty sure that there must be something lost in Google’s translation, because this “review” doesn’t exactly pull apart the nitty-gritty of this tablet. Whatever though, it sure does have some brilliant photos. Here’s what we were able to garner from the review: the LG C1 XNote has an nVIDIA Geforce 7300 Go, HSDPA, a 10.6-inch screen, a SD and CompactFlash card slot, and a USIM slot (all stuff you could find on the spec sheet). If any of our readers who understand Korean can perhaps help us out with some more info that we missed out on, you know how to find us. In the meantime, check out one more snapshot that we snagged of this bad boy on the next page.

Chinese Theft o’ the Day: Fake Diet Drugs

Posted on 20 October 2006 by

French police arrested six employees of a Chinese drug company this month for exhibiting counterfeit versions of the weight-loss drug Acomplia at a Paris pharmaceutical trade show. The Chinese company allegedly STOLE the “intellectual property rights” of the French pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis by selling their own dubious drugs under Sanofi-Aventis branding. Normally, the fake drug is sold over the Internet via spam ads, but the company actually had the nads to exhibit their phony wares in Paris — the same city where Sanofi-Aventis is headquartered. Meanwhile, the company will continue to operate in China, churning out millions of fake pills under the full protection of the Chinese government and ruling Communist Party.

Korea Jumps On Humanoid Robot Bandwagon

Posted on 18 October 2006 by

After a series of amazing humanoid robots were unveiled by Japan and China, South Korea has come out with a life-size humanoid robot of its own. Called EveR2-Muse, the female bot is uglier than Japan’s best humanoid robot, but not nearly as ugly as the Chinese one. EveR2-Muse lip-synchs VACUOUS POP SONGS better than Ashlee Simpson and is scheduled to perform in music videos. Unlike her predecessor, EveR-1, the new version can reportedly sit down, stand up and walk. EveR2-Muse has 58 motors to control movements, 29 of which are in her face. And like Ashlee Simpson, EveR2-Muse is able to express boredom and other emotions.
